Study: Flowers

I like how the petels are beggining to die.


 I had been growing flowers all summer, I had grown a lot, from Dahlia's to Sunflowers. 


I wanted to show the detail in the flowers, I tried taking pictures of the flowers as they were but the camera wouldn't bring out the detail due to the busy background. 

I then decided to use a piece of black card in order to single out the flower head and stem. I found this worked perfectly, the black worked well in contrast with the colours of each flower.

Here's a few of the images I produced.
In this photo I like the depth of field and the intensity of the pink. I also like the detail in the center of the flower heads.


 I  like in this picture are the high contrasts in the colours. The black makes the colours pop.



I love this picture. It's a contrast to the others as the flower head has died but it still holds its beauty and form of a flower head.
I love the way the natural light streems in from the left highlighting the ruffles of the dried petals.
