Trip: Botanical Gardens, Oxford

Yesterday I went to The Botanical Gardens in Oxford with my friend.
I went as a part of my fmp(final major project) but I ended up reallly enjoying it and I'm
planning to go again soon!
It was a really odd day yesterday, I dunno if my friend and I were
hallucinating from hunger or wheter it really was happening but we were followed by an old man who had coughing torettes, we were handed a free book and cd, saw a random fake dj, saw a shaolin monk leaving hsbc and batman collecting money.

Anyway, I think I got some good pictures for my fmp, I was gutted that I didn't take black card to use as backdrop, I had to improvise with my camera bag! and a bit gutted that I didn't take pictures around town too(Oxford).
Moving on, these are my results. (Some of my results as I'm going to split these up into some different sections such as pattern etc.)

Study: Natures Mask

Hello :), Although I've had a bad day! I still got something good out of it!

I was messing around on photoshop trying to get a feel of what I'm aiming to for my final major project!
and I managed to get some good images that I'm realllly happy with.
They are a few images of my face along with some bamboo stuff I found when I was  out with the college camera.

I love the way it looks like I'm wearing a mask, and how it's morphed and fits naturally.

A walk with the college camera

Last monday morning I decided to use the college camera
and headed over to the ice rink field which is opposite my college.

Here are the results of my trip :)

Study: Blossom

I wondered around with my cammy (camera) in hunt of some
blossom in my village. I know there's loads around my town
but im too lazy to take my cammy into town plus the lighting has been
awful!

I'm also planning to visit the botanical gardens, again when I can be
bothered! But I need to go pretty soon!

Anyway heres a few pics of blossom.
Yeah, I admit they aren't the best! but the lighting was bad and the branches were pretty high up!

I'll hopefully have some better one's going up soon!

Study: My Face

Yet another post about my project!
I've decided to include my face,
so as a starter, I took a few pictures of my face
that I could hopefully work with in photoshop etc.

...
I will also print these images and experiment with them using natural materials.

Study: Dried Flowers

As part of my final project I decided to photograph some flowers I'd saved from last year.
I was suprised to discover that the colours had remained as well as the condition of them.
Here are some of the images I produced.

Study: Dark room Photograms

I'm on my final major at college and I've chosen to produce a series of images to do with nature.
I haven't fully decided on the full concept of my idea, but I know I'm going to be using both dark room techniques and my digital slr.

These are some of the Photograms I've produced for my project. I created these by finding things such as; Daisies, leafs, blossom etc... I then placed them on darkroom photo paper and exposed and developed them. These my results....

Study: Butterflies

I love Butterflies, I love the hudreds of different types of Butterfly. Last summer I was staking all of my flowers and any flower I saw which attracted Butterflies.

I got pretty lucky and managed to take a few useable images.  I even managed to get one into my local newspaper. The pictures I'm going to show you have been edited yes but only to bring more of a soft, summery feel to them. One thing I learnt, as with most photography, was patience and awareness. When photographing Butterflies, not all  Butterflies will be willing enough to stick around and wait for you to snap, so be ready, and be fast! But not too fast or they'll just flutter away.            :)
